Cigar City Bottles First Mead – Release Details
It’s here! Our collaboration with B. Nektar Meadery is bottled and now on sale and on tap in our tasting room. Ghost Stories is a Braggot (fermented from both barley and from honey) that was brewed with lager yeast, making it a truly unique experience. The honey used for the mead portion is Meadowfoam, which is most notable for its huge marshmallow flavors. But we didn’t stop there. We also added some chocolate, coconut, Chinese black smoked tea, and a touch of white oak as well.
From our brewmaster Wayne: “The result is a black braggot with hints of smoke, marshmallow, chocolate, vanilla and macaroon that is exceptionally complex and rounded even though it is over 10% ABV. The overall intent is to emulate a Smores Braggot with slight smoky notes from being prepared over an open camp fire.”
Bottles are $15 in the tasting room. There is no bottle limit. Expect plenty to hit distribution as well!
