Cascade Brewing Will Release The Vine and Kriek 2013 This Month
(Portland,OR) – Cascade Brewing, one of the most famous American sour brewers, has announced the release of The Vine 2013, Kriek 2013 as well as a tentative release timeframe for Apricot 2013.
The Vine 2013 will be released on draft and in bottles at the Raccoon Lodge, Barrel House and online this Thursday, March 6th at 4:30pm PST. This NW style sour ale is a blend of blond and wheat ales that were barrel aged for up to 12 months before aging on fresh pressed white grape must for an additional three months. Aromas of sweet foxy grape skins and hints of cotton candy are noticed up front. Rich, sweet white grape notes dance on the palate, leading to a pronounced finish of sweet grape flesh. 9.3% ABV, $6.5 8oz Glass, $2 Taster, $20 750ml Bottle.
We will also have a ¼ bbl of the 2009 The Vine on tap at the Barrel House so you can taste a little vintage Vine.
Kriek 2013 will be released on draft and in bottles at the Raccoon Lodge, Barrel House and online on Thursday, March 20th at 4:30pm PDT. This NW style sour red ale is a blend of red ales aged in oak barrels for up to eight months, then aged on fresh Bing and sour pie cherries for an additional six months. Aromas of rich, dark cherries, oak and slight hints of cinnamon are noticed up front. Dark, tart cherries and light spice notes dance on the palate, leading to a rich, dark, sparkling finish of tart cherries and oak. 8.2% ABV, $6.5 8oz Glass, $2 Taster, $20 750ml Bottle.
Apricot 2013 is coming along and should be ready by late March or more likely the first week of April.
