Burial Beer Co. Opens Kitchen July 11th
(ASHEVILLE, NC) – We are thrilled to announce another chapter in Burial history. Burial’s first food operation begins, and another is around the corner.
For the past two years, we had the pleasure of partnering with two like minded people. Shannon and Josiah, owners of Salt and Smoke, brought delicious and innovative food to the good beer drinkers at Burial. Since then, Shannon and Josiah have opened Vivian, a warm, welcoming restaurant located the River Arts District. As Vivian continues to gain attention from locals and tourists, Shannon and Josiah have decided to focus 100% on their dream business. We couldnt be happier for them!
Burial has decided to internally take on operation of all food at our taproom. Burial’s kitchen will open on July 11th at their original location located in the South Slope neighborhood of Asheville, under the guide of Brian Canipelli, owner and Head Chef of Cucina 24 and James Beard Award nominee. In addition to running one of our favorite Asheville restaurants, Brian will become our new Food Director and oversee the kitchen operations at our Downtown location as well as the upcoming Forestry Camp, opening this fall. Burial’s kitchen will focus on approachable and affordable American-influenced food with a touch of Asheville terroir. Food will be available beginning Wednesday through Sunday and will grow from there.
The Forestry Camp bar and restaurant has organically blossomed over the past year, into a concept that we believe is unique to the Asheville scene. Under Brian’s leadership Forestry Camp will be a fully functioning kitchen with a regular and seasonal tasting menu. The full food operation also means that the planned extensive beer, wine and coffee programs will also be joined by spirits.
We are extremely excited to add Brian to the Burial family. Through his guidance, we hope to provide the most full beer and food experience in Asheville.
ABOUT BURIAL BEER CO.
Founded in June 2013, Burial Beer Co. crafts Belgian-inspired ales, and bold American styles with a dedication to creativity, tradition, modernization, and preservation. Residing in and revitalizing the South Slope District of Asheville, NC, the brewery began its life as a one-barrel system that grew to a ten-barrel in just over a year. Fall 2016 brought a new wave of expansion and revitalization as Burial Beer Co. expanded again to a second location, the “Forestry Camp.” This location is home to a twenty-barrel production brewery and soon to be locally purveyed restaurant and two-story craft beer bar in South Asheville. The Brewery currently distributes to North Carolina, Georgia, and New York.
