Blah Blah Blah IPA From 21st Amendment
San Francisco, CA – 21st Amendment co-founders Nico Freccia and Shaun O’Sullivan love their IPAs. But with more than 3,000 breweries in America today, and IPA as the number one craft beer style, it’s downright comical the sheer volume of IPAs out there. English IPAs, New England IPAs, blah blah, Black IPAs, Oaked IPAs, blah blah blah, White IPAs blah blah blah, Mango-Jalapeno IPAs–you name it. So the 21st Amendment decided there was only one thing to do and they created a brand new, bright and jammy IPA and called it “Blah Blah Blah”.
“We take our beers very seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously,” Freccia explains. “We just want to have fun making great beers and Blah Blah Blah IPA sure seemed like a great way to do it.”
“This beer is the result of a project I’ve been working on for the past year,” added Brewmaster O’Sullivan. “Blah Blah Blah is a full-bodied, red IPA packed with aromas of pine, citrus, grapefruit and jam. The arc of this beer started with a five-gallon homebrew in my backyard, then went to our pub brewery’s 12 barrel system before finding its way to the larger 75 BBL system at our partner brewery, Third Street Brewery, in Cold Spring, Minnesota. This beer is a departure from our standard IPA and incorporates malts we haven’t previously used in our IPAs. Here we use imported crystal and biscuit malts resulting in a darker beer with sweet and toasty flavors balanced out with aggressive hopping. We also used a different technique of adding hops at staggered times very late in the boil process. And we didn’t skimp on the fermenter dry hops with Simcoe, Chinook, Citra, Mosaic and a newer hop, Equinox. This is an IPA drinker’s hop aroma dream.”
“It’s been a while since we’ve released a new beer to market and we’re just excited to see this beer hit the taps. Blah blah blah, just try it,” said Freccia.
Blah Blah Blah IPA (7.75 % ABV, 68 IBU) is part of 21st Amendment’s Big Can Series of draft-only beers and will begin its roll-out in early October on draft in all 20 of 21st Amendment’s current distribution territories including CA, OR, WA, AK, ID, MN, OH, MA, NY, NJ, DC, DE, MD, PA, VA, GA, ME, RI, NV and NC. ABOUT 21st AMENDMENT:
In 2000, Nico Freccia and Shaun O’Sullivan opened the doors to the 21st Amendment brewpub in San Francisco’s historic South Park neighborhood with Freccia managing the restaurant and O’Sullivan spearheading the brewing process. In addition to quickly becoming one of the city’s favorite pubs, 21st Amendment began expanding beyond the Bay Area by helping to pioneer the movement to canned craft beer. Known for their witty names and delicious brews, 21st Amendment offers three year round selections, as well as seasonal offerings and their infamous ‘Insurrection Series’, a once-in-a-while limited edition release. Today, 21st Amendment is among the top 50 craft beer brewers in America and is sold in 20 states.
