Ballast Point Hits NYC!
(San Diego, CA) – Ballast Point Brewing of San Diego, CA to Ship Flagship beers to New York City beginning June 1, 2009.
From Ballast Point Brewing Co -Wow. It feels like summer around here. The weather is beautiful and we are really having to kick things into high gear around the brewery. Not only is our hometown growing ever more thirsty, other places around the country are starting to realize that the best beer in the world comes from San Diego.
Beginning on June 1st, Big Eye IPA and Calico Amber Ale will be available in New York City. All five boroughs and Long Island thanks to our new friends at Union Distributing. Next time you are in NY, be sure and ask for one.
If you are lucky enough to be in San Diego on Thursday afternoon, be sure to stop by our Scripps Ranch brewery and have a pint of cask-conditioned Dorado IIPA. This is only a small “pin” firkin, so we will hold off on tapping until 2pm. Something to look forward to after work.

It’s never quite as good after being shipped, but it’s certainly better than nothing. Competing with New York State’s local beers is going to be tough from across the country though.
