Ecliptic Brewing Brings Home Six More Medals
(Portland, OR) – This has been quite the year so far for Ecliptic Brewing when it comes to winning awards at local, national, and worldwide beer competitions. Most recently, Ecliptic brought home a total of six medals at the North American Beer Awards (NABA) and the US Open Beer Championships. This comes on the heels of wins at World Beer Cup, Best of Craft Beer Awards, and the Oregon Beer Awards. One thing is clear, the Ecliptic brew team led by Owner and Brewmaster John Harris, is brewing up some great beer in 2016.
“Our team has been hard at work and it feels great to have those efforts recognized,” said Owner and Brewmaster John Harris. “Seeing the continued success of Capella Porter, Orbiter IPA bringing home a medal, and other beers being celebrated makes us very proud.”

North American Beer Awards
This is an annual competition sanctioned by the North American Brewers Association. The event is conducted as a single blind sampling followed by rank ordering within each category. This year was the 20th year for this competition.
Ecliptic Brewing brought home the following:
- Gold Medal, Orange Giant Barleywine
- American Style Barleywine
- Silver Medal, Capella Porter
- Brown Porter
- Bronze Medal, Orbiter IPA
- English Style IPA

US Open Beer Championships
This is an annual competition held in the US. This year there were nearly 5,000 beer entries across over 90 beer categories this year.
Ecliptic Brewing brought home the following:
- Gold Medal, Capella Porter

- Gold Medal, Barrel-Aged Orange Giant Barleywine
- Wood/Barrel-Aged Barleywine
- Silver Medal, Barrel-Aged Oort Imperial Stout
- Wood/Barrel-Aged Strong Stout
