A Big Boo-yah for Ballast Point Brewing Co.

The winners of the 2010 World Beer Cup were announced in Chicago this past Saturday and we are elated to announce…

Ballast Point Brewing Co was awarded three gold medals and Small Brewery of the Year honors!

The competition is held every two years and is, in our estimation, the most prestigious in the world.  There is no greater praise we could hope to receive from our peers in the beer community.  A big thanks goes out to all of you who have supported us through the years.  We wouldn’t be here without you.

Big props out also to the rest of our brewery buddies in San Diego.  Of the just over 200 medals awarded to American breweries, 21 came from the greater San Diego area, furthering our reputation as America’s greatest beer destination.  Keep up the good work fellas.  It’s awesome to be a part of such a close group of comrades who continually push the limits and challenge one another.  Let’s keep making the good stuff and let the rest of the world come here to see how it should be done.

We have an awesome cask of Piper Down Scottish Ale pouring tomorrow up at Scripps Ranch.  We soaked some oak in BP Spirits’ own Devil’s Share Bourbon and added them to this cask for a special treat.  Cask taps at 11 pours until it is gone.  Stop by for a pint and gaze at our bitchin’ new trophy.  See you here!
