Review – New Belgium 2 Below

New Belgium: Dry hopping during fermentation creates a floral nose with a hint of pepper and spicy, subtle undertones. 2 Below provides a bright, hoppy palate and a cheery warm afterglow.

New Belgium Brewing Co. – 2 Below – 12 oz. bottle poured into………A NEW BELGIUM GLASS! 6.6% abv.

Appearance: Clear amber with a 1/2 inch foamy white head.

Aroma: Red berries and a slight whiff of bread crust.

Taste: A mix of bread crust, mild bitter hops, dark sugar and a hint of cranberry. The finish has some spice to it, but it’s not overly bold.

Mouthfeel: Thin, and refreshing for a winter warmer.

Overall: Many others have mentioned this, and I believe it to be true; this is a holiday rendition of Fat Tire.  Sure, it has more alcohol, and a bit more love, but you can totally tell it came from the same place in Fort Collins, CO.  The beer drinker you know, who has just graduated into good beer would be tickled to have a six pack of this, instead of the stand by Samuel Adams Winter Lager.
