On Saturday, April 26th, Deschutes Brewery raised more than $12,000 for Oregon Trout at a sold-out preview event held at the new Portland Deschutes Brewery and Public House. The event coincided with the opening of the new pub, located in Portland’s Pearl District.

One of Deschutes Brewery’s core values is “Sharing Our Success with the Community.” This celebration and partnership with Oregon Trout represents the strong commitment Deschutes has to tackling the very real, very challenging issue of water quality in Oregon’s rivers.

Issaquah Brewery’s Frosty Frog was designated Grand Champion at the 2008 United States Beer Tasting Championships in the Spice/Smoke beer category. Frosty Frog was also awarded the title of Pacific Northwest Champion in the Spice/Smoke beer category.

This is Issaquah Brewery’s third award from the U.S. Beer Tasting Championships. Previous Pacific Northwest Champions were Issaquah Brewery’s Bullfrog Ale in 2007 and its Farm Frog Saison in 2006. The 14th annual United States Beer Tasting Championship was held in December in Princeton, New Jersey. Over 400 beers from 141 breweries participated.

(May 12-18) Brewery Invites you to “Meet the Brewer and the Beer”

Hood River, This year Full Sail celebrates 21 years of doing what they love, brewing beer. “To kick off our 21st birthday celebrations, we’re proud to announce a new line up of small batch draft beers called ‘Brewer’s Share’. As brewers we know the best way to celebrate is to brew a special beer - but we came up with so many creative ideas, so many brewers, so many beers, that we could not stop at just one. Instead we are giving all of our brewers a chance to brew their own beer with our Brewer’s Share series,” said Irene Firmat, Full Sail’s Founder and CEO. The first beer in the series is “Extra Special Barney” (ESB) and was developed by Full Sail’s lead brewer, Barney Brennan. The brewery will launch this special beer during American Craft Beer Week, (May 12-18) an event that is celebrated annually and highlights the industry and culture of craft beer.

On Wednesday, May 21 we’re presenting a special tag-team beer dinner at Oskar Blues Brewery in Lyons.

The night will feature a wonderful, one-night only menu from chef Charles Edson, and samples of many beers from both Oskar Blues and our friends from Deschutes Brewing in Bend, Oregon.

The menu will include Spicy Thai Tempura Pork Rolls, Mulligatawny, Seared Duck Breast over mixed Greens & Sweet Potato Hash, Buffalo Sirloin with Gorgonzola Risotto, and Chocolate Cheese Cake with Caramel Pecans served with Ten FIDY Imperial Stout and The Abyss. Yowsa!

Deschutes Brings Award-Winning Beers to Portland’s Brewery Blocks

Bend, OR - The new Deschutes Brewery and Public House in Portland opened May 2nd, 2008. The first Deschutes Brewery facility to open outside of the brewery’s hometown of Bend, Oregon, the brewpub is located in the heart of Portland’s buzzing Pearl District and will open just in time to celebrate the brewery’s 20th anniversary on June 27th. WE WON AGAIN! YAY!
We are excited to report that this past Saturday evening we won two medals at the World Beer Cup which has quickly turned into the professional brewers’ Olympics.

We won a gold medal with our Divine Reserve No. 4 in the Strong Scotch Ale category and a silver medal with our Elissa IPA in the International Pale Ale category. Since we only entered four beers in the competition, we are even more pleased with these results.
