Lagunitas Maximus IPA

Lagunitas MaximusFrom Lagunitas BrewingAt the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh Hops and Malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth.

Lagunitas Brewing Co. – Maximus IPA – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass.7.2% abv. Purchased at Whole Foods Market Arroyo Pasadena, CA.

Appearance: Pours a clear amber with a fluffy beige head.

Aroma: Light grapefruit and pine.

Taste: Candied grapefruit, turbinado sugar syrup, finishing with earthy bitter hops.

Mouthfeel: Thick.

Overall: A bit too malt forward for my liking. May not have been a fresh bottle, or perhaps this is something border-lining a Double IPA.
