Prescott, AZ – The Arizona Craft Brewers Guild is coming together in a “collabrew” next week in an effort to raise funds for the families of 19 fallen Granite Mountain Hotshot firefighters, and is encouraging the public to assist by either purchasing a special brew called “Heroes 19” or by “Buying a Pint for our Heroes” on the Brewers Guild website.
All 35 members of the Guild will participate in brewing up an American brown ale next Thursday and Friday (July 18th and 19th)at the Prescott Brewing Company and 100 percent of the proceeds from the blend of 19 different hops will benefit the families of the 19 brave heroes tragically lost in the deadly Yarnell Hill Fire June 30th. Upon completion, Heroes 19 will be available for purchase at breweries statewide.
Nondrinkers are encouraged to show their support for the families as well, and may do so by purchasing a “virtual pint” of Heroes 19 for $5 at www.craftbeeraz.com. All proceeds generated will benefit the Prescott Firefighters Charities and be distributed directly to the families of the fallen.
“While we know there is nothing that can ease the pain of the families of the fallen, this is one thing we can do to let them know that they have the full support of the state of Arizona,” said Michael Marquess, president of the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild. “While most can’t even begin to understand what the families are going through, everyone wants to lend a hand. This is one way to do so where you can be confident that professionalism and ethics are being maintained, and that 100 percent of your donation will directly benefit those in need.”
