Local Craft Brews and Barbeque in Rogue’s Backyard
PORTLAND, OR., July 8, 2008 – The 14th Annual Bones and Brew Festival to benefit the Oregon Zoo will be held August 2nd-3rd at the epicenter of Portland’s historic Northwest and Pearl Districts. Three closed-off city streets overlooking the buzzing I-405 transform into Portland’s largest neighborhood backyard BBQ.
Budweiser is Budweiser
There has been clamor all around regarding InBev’s acquisition of Anheuser-Busch. While I respect everyone’s take on the matter, I have a take of my own. Budweiser has its place in Americana. Every liquor store, grocery store (in most cases), gas station, 7-11, ball park, and airport will have Bud on draft. It is a sponsor for so many things, and has its logo plastered everywhere.
US craft brewers head to Great British Beer Festival
Seventeen of America’s craft breweries will be represented at this year’s Great British Beer Festival (GBBF), running at London’s Earl’s Court from 5 to 9 August.
The breweries will serve 57 hand-crafted ales and lagers of varying styles in the international Section of the event. The offering will be the largest amount of American Craft Beer to be available at the GBBF in its 31-year history.
