Societe Brewing to Present at Savor 2015
San Diego, CA – On June 5 and 6, Societe Brewing Company will be one of 73 small and independent craft breweries represented at SAVOR: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience. Presented by the Brewers Association and in its eighth year, SAVOR is the premier beer and food pairing event in the United States.
SAVOR returns to the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. this June. As in past years, each brewery will pour two of its craft beers, accompanied by a reception-style sampling of sweet and savory small plates designed by the Brewers Association executive chef and co-author of CraftBeer.com’s Beer & Food Course, Adam Dulye.
“SAVOR is about more than just pairing beer with food,” said Steven Lesinski, the Director of First Impressions at Societe Brewing Company. “It’s about pairing some of the best breweries in the country with the fans who sustain the amazing craft beer movement. Any time you bring together folks who are as knowledgeable and passionate about craft beer as the community that surrounds SAVOR, you are in for a treat.”
“We are thrilled to be back at SAVOR in 2015,” said Mike V. Sardina, the Assistant Executive Officer of Societe Brewing Company and the Vice President of the San Diego Brewers Guild. “Not only do we relish the opportunity to work with Chef Adam and the Brewers Association, but we get the chance showcase San Diego beer on the East Coast and in the Nation’s Capital.”
“SAVOR celebrates the success of small and independent craft brewers and their flavor-forward creations by showcasing the synergy between craft beer and food,” said Julia Herz, publisher of CraftBeer.com and craft beer program director of the Brewers Association. “This unique experience allows attendees direct access into the world of craft beer by conversing with luminaries of the beer community while tasting an expansive range of delicious beers.”
During SAVOR, Societe Brewing Company will be pouring The Pupil, an American IPA, served with a Fava Bean & English Pea Crostini. The tropical aromas and flavors of the IPA accent the fresh fava and peas, while a gentle bitterness to the beer finishes clean. Societe will also be pouring The Widow, a Belgian Dark Ale, served with a Molasses & Coffee Rubbed Pork Loin with a Polenta & Orange Marmalade. The spice of the yeast highlights the orange marmalade while the molasses in the rub compliments similar notes found in the beer’s malt profile.
Visit the SAVOR website for more information on the event, including the full menu and brewery list. Tickets to SAVOR are available via Ticketmaster.
