Sausagefest ’09…. No not that kind silly
The most brilliant minds at Rock Bottom are currently hard at work putting the final shine on plans for our first-ever Rock Bottom SausageFest, set for Saturday, February 21 at the Rock Bottom Downtown Chicago. Some of the delights that will await guests include quality entertainment, rare and unique cheeses, and of course a variety of specialty encased meats, each thoughtfully paired up with specific (and often very limited) beers from both brewer Pete Crowley and select guests. That’s right, 2 beers for each link…it is unheard of! Featured sausages will include:
- Hickory Smoked Duck with Gruyere and Dried Orange
- Lamb and Beef with Plums and Terragon
- Italian with Crushed Malted Barley
- Turkey with Sage Stuffing and Wort Gravy
- Alder Smoked Salmon marinated in IPA with Red Curry, Basil and Roasted Red Peppers

The inaugural Sausagefest will be held at the Rock Bottom Brewery in downtown Chicago. The festival, co-sponsored by the Rock Bottom Brewery and the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild, will be an afternoon of craft brews, hand-made sausage, and artisanal cheese. Abe Froman, “the sausage king of Chicago”, will be a special guest speaker.
Tickets are $35 each and will get you into the fest where you will enjoy 5 distinct, delicious handmade sausages. Paired with each sausage will be 2 artisanal cheeses and 2 craft brews from one of our local brewers.
The event will start promptly at 1:00 PM and run until 5:00 PM. We are limiting ticket sales to only 150 to make sure there’s plenty of sausage for our hungry guests.

Sausages for Sausagefest 09 are all original handmade creations just for this wonderful event. Beer is provided by Rock Bottom Chicago and several guest breweries. Cheese will be provided by the Marion Street Cheese Market in Oak Park, IL.
