Rubicon Brewing Celebrates Hop Harvest With Their 3rd Annual Hoptoberfest
The Rubicon Brewing Company is celebrating the hop harvest season for the entire month of October and with their annual 3rd Annual Hoptoberfest on October 31st and November 1st. This Hoptoberfest also marks the 21st Anniversary of the Rubicon Brewing Company.
Hop harvest season is a time to celebrate, as the hops produced play multiple important roles in the brewing process and final product of great beer. Hops offer a stabilizing effect to the scientific brewing operation, and dependent on which strains of hops are used, they can produce a variety of flavors and aromas. Additionally, hops played a very important part in the history of the India Pale Ale (IPA), which was born in the 1700s when Britain, to avoid spoilage, added extra hops- because of its preservative qualities- to batches of pale ale that were being shipped to India.
So, to honor this very important time of year, and extremely hoppy beer style, any day this month you can walk into the Rubicon and choose from a list of hopped-up guest IPAs and Double IPAs. Among those scheduled to appear are: Bear Republic’s Apex IPA, Sierra Nevada’s Torpedo IPA, 21st Amendment’s Fresh Hop Harvest IPA, Triple Rock’s IPAX IPA, and Russian River’s Pliny the Elder. This list will also include Rubicon’s hoppiest ales: the flagship, India Pale Ale (IPA), and their Hopsauce (Double IPA).
The 3rd Annual Hoptoberfest Finale on October 31st and November 1st coincides with the Rubicon’s 21st Birthday. To commemorate these two momentous occasions, the Rubicon is inviting all of their hop-loving friends and neighbors to join them in celebration with 21 of the hoppiest beers they could find. This is a harvest party you will not want to miss.
In addition to the Hoptoberfest, Rubicon Brewing Company hosts three other annual festivals: Maibock Festival and Women in Brewing Festival in April, and the Midtown community festival in September. These festivals give patrons the unique opportunity to experience many different beers from numerous breweries. And it happens right in their neighborhood, and all under one roof.
The Rubicon Brewing Company is a favorite Midtown Sacramento institution. For 21 years the Rubicon has provided handcrafted beers and great food, served in a casual, friendly atmosphere. So, if you haven’t been by yet, or it’s been a while… Go by and try one of their fine brews, and see for yourself the difference experience can make.
