Portsmouth Brewery Beer Social
Portsmouth Brewery is hosting a beer social next week with four other breweries including Dogfish Head. Sam will be in the house and he’ll be doing a collaboration brew with Tod and Tyler the next day.
It’ll be a Fru-it Gru-it, though I’m not positive that’ll be the final name. I don’t have too many specs on it yet. Here are the beer social details:
We’re pleased to announce the return of the Sam! Sam Calagione, Founder and President of Dogfish Head Brewing is many things; brewer, rapper, marketing savant, TV star, and beer ambassador. He’s also incredibly charismatic, entertaining and gracious.
A July 26 beer social at Portsmouth Brewery will be our second event with Sam. He’ll be combining his beervangelist powers with our own Tod Mott, plus Will Gilson from Moat Mountain, Rik Marley from Flying Goose, and Dave Yarrington from Smuttynose. Each of these five great brewers are bringing one beer for the event and they’ll all be in the house to meet and greet you. We guarantee you will be entertained, educated and satiated. The social starts at 6:30 PM and tickets are limited to 50, so you’ll be guaranteed an intimate experience. Your reservation enables you to taste five beers, each from a different brewery, alongside four courses of Chef Todd Sweet’s scrumtrilescent cuisine.
Reservations are $50 each, $20 of which will go to the Krempels Center, a local organization that provides support, education and awareness for individuals and families dealing with brain injuries.
Tickets will go on sale this afternoon (July 18) at 4pm! You can book in person at the Brewery or call by phone to reserve your place. We expect this event to sell out quickly.
Here’s the Menu!
Aperitif – Flying Goose Brewery’s Pleasant Lake Pilsner
First Pairing – Portsmouth Brewery’s Thaizenheimer paired with Crispy Pork Spring Rolls (Cha Gio in Vietnamese). The vegetarian option is a Crispy Edamame and Tofu Spring Roll
Second Pairing – Moat Mountain’s Smoked Porter with Rosemary Grilled Lamb and Fig Brochettes. The vegetarian option is Wild Mushroom and Fig Skewer.
Third Pairing – Smuttynose Brewing’s Short Batch #12, “Noonan” paired with House Pretzels and a Spicy Farmhouse Cheddar Spread and Frisee.
Fourth Pairing – Dogfish Head’s Burton Baton run through a Randall filled with oak chips paired with a Bittersweet Chocolate Pastry Rings with a Cacao Nib Croquette.
We hope you’ll join us for some delicious food and beer while helping raise money for a wonderful local organization.

Well, I’ll definitely try to come over. 3 reasons namely: you got bier. Your brauerei is well-recognized (I did some research). You are also in for a noble cause (I appreciate that). Will see if I can get in through your limited reservations. Hope to see you soon.
