Maia Restaurant & Bistro Teams with Victory Brewing to Celebrate Oktoberfest
Villanova, Pa – Main Line Philadelphia’s dazzling restaurant and market bistro, Maia (789 East Lancaster Avenue, 610-527-4888), is giving diners yet another reason to visit: Executive Chefs Patrick and Terence Feury have teamed with the renown beer artisans at Victory Brewing Company to create a month-long Oktoberfest Celebration, including special menu items and delicious beer pairings.
“Oktoberfest is an exciting time of year for beer enthusiasts, and here in Pennsylvania it coincides beautifully with the fall harvest,” explains Terence Feury. “This is a natural way for us to shine a spotlight on local produce and meats, which has always been one of our passions at Maia, alongside some award-winning local beers.”
A kick-off event is planned for October 1, and will include a $39, four-course menu and beer pairing. Menu items and beers include:
Weisen, a lighter, more modern lager, with a choice of:
- House-Smoked Salmon with German pickles, red onion and egg salad
- Ballotine of Amish Chicken with cassis mustard
Festbier, a malty lager, with a choice of:
- Spiced Corned Duck Breast with celery root slaw
- Curried Herring with green apples and endive
Braumeister Harvest Pils, a special, wet-hopped pilsner with a bracing, herbal bite over layers of soft and smooth malt flavor, with a choice of:
- Coriander-Crusted Scallops with caramelized Brussels sprouts, potato puree and preserved lemon
- Applewood Smoked Pork Chop with braised red cabbage and apples
Moonglow Weizenbock, a dark amber beer with a delicious, spicy fruit aroma, with a choice of:
- Shellbark Farms Goat Cheese Fritters with smoked almonds and local baby greens
- Grilled Salmon with lemon jam and crispy shallots
This special menu includes the six-ounce beer pairing and a choice between the two available dishes for each course. For those who can’t attend the kick-off event, the individual items from this very special menu will be offered at Maia as a selection of a la carte small plates from October 2 until October 31. All four featured beers will also be available. Menu items will range in price from $8 to $15.
“It was important to us to be able to share these flavors with our guests,” says Patrick Feury. “Even if people can’t attend the kick-off event, we hope that they will come out and celebrate the harvest season and Oktoberfest with us.”
Maia is the Main Line’s most spectacular dining experience. Victory Brewing Company is among Pennsylvania’s most elite breweries. Their flavorful, high-quality beers are regularly honored within the craft brewing industry. As a company, Victory has grown steadily since their inception in 1996 and today, they produce more than 45,000 barrels annually from their Downingtown, Pennsylvania headquarters. William Covaleski and Ron Barchet, founders and brewmasters of Victory, further perfected their craft by studying at prestigious academies throughout Germany in the early 90’s. Both apprenticed under famed, German-trained Dutch brewmaster Theo de Groen.
