Great Lakes Brewing Christmas Ale – First Pour Party Details
It’s the most wonderful time for a beer–and it’s finally almost here.
We are thrilled to announce that our beloved Christmas Ale will be tapped in our Ohio City Brewpub (only) on Tuesday, October 21 at 11:30AM (doors open at 11AM). Unpack your holiday attire, dust off the jingle bells, and join us for one of our favorite traditions.
This year’s party will feature:
- Fresh Christmas Ale on tap (of course!)
- An appearance by Brewer Santa, delivering the first keg of Christmas Ale (11:15AM)
- Classic & obscure holiday vinyl from DJ Misfit Toy in the Beer Garden (11AM-2PM and 4PM-7PM)
- An appearance by Real Santa (4PM-7PM)
Full Release Details:
Tuesday, October 21 at 11:30AM: Christmas Ale is tapped exclusively at the GLBC Brewpub. Our Brewpub will open at 11AM.
Saturday, October 25 at 10AM: Christmas Ale bottles on sale exclusively in the GLBC Gift Shop. Our Brewpub will open at 10AM.
Monday, October 27 at 11:30 AM: Christmas Ale growler fills available in the GLBC Brewpub
Monday, October 27: Christmas Ale releases in GLBC’s distribution markets
A Case of Christmas:
Look for our new Christmas ale carton at your favorite place to buy beer. Featuring hops- and malt-inspired snowflakes, a customizable gift tag, and iconic Christmas Ale artwork, the newly redesigned eco-friendly Christmas Ale carton is perfectly suited for holiday get-togethers and gift exchanges.
The new carton will release in GLBC’s distribution markets beginning Monday, October 27, along with 6-Packs and Draft of the seasonal brew.
First Pour Contest:
Want to receive the first pour of Christmas Ale? Enter our annual First Pour contest at FriendsofGLBC.com. Just dig up a photo of your favorite Christmas Ale tradition, and submit it at FriendsofGLBC.com, or use #FriendsofGLBC on Instagram or Twitter to enter. The winner will receive the very first pour of Christmas Ale for 2014, plus his/her choice of a Great Lakes Brewing Co. toboggan or snowboard!
Photos must depict Great Lakes Brewing Company’s Christmas Ale, and should show your personal Christmas Ale tradition. Photos will be judged by a panel based on:
- Creativity
- Concept
- Composition
Please keep in mind that GLBC encourages responsible consumption of our products. Great Lakes Brewing Company reserves the right to remove any images deemed inappropriate.
The First Pour Contest begins on October 7 and closes on October 16, but smaller prizes will be awarded throughout November and December at FriendsofGLBC.com, so keep those photos coming! Entrants must be 21 or older, reside where GLBC beer is sold, and must be able to attend our tapping at 11AM on October 21. Full rules and restrictions available at FriendsofGLBC.com
