Galveston Pub Crawl This Saturday, June 28
Dear St. Arnold’s Army:
Galveston, oh Galveston,
I still taste the beers I’m drinking,
I still see your bar lights blinking,
If you’re over 21, come to Galveston.
GALVESTON PUB CRAWL THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 28
Come to Galveston this Saturday for our first ever Galveston Pub Crawl. This will be an “old school” crawl with everybody visiting the same account each hour. The crawl will begin at 4 PM. You will get your pub crawl ticket at the first stop. Then have it signed at each subsequent stop. Those that make all four stops will get a Saint Arnold 2008 pub crawl pint glass at the last stop. We will have a large but limited supply. And as always, designated drivers are both eligible for the award and encouraged to attend! Here is the layout and some general directions:
4 PM: We will start at 2013/2015 Post Office St. These establishments are connected to each other (they count as one stop).
5 PM: We will venture down the same side of the block a few doors to 2005 Post Office St.
6 PM: Now cross the street and head back to 2022 Post Office St.
7 PM: For the finish, proceed down Post Office to 22nd St., turn right and go about 2 blocks to 215 22nd St. This establishment offers pizza and pub grub too.
Other notes:
For those seeking a dining spot in the vicinity, we recommend the Stork Club at 2101 Post Office. The crawl will pass right by it.
Getting a hotel room is recommended for those that don’t live on the island.
Make a weekend of it. Do some exploring of Galveston. And make sure to visit ELISSA at the Texas Seaport Museum.
WE BOUGHT A BUILDING FOR OUR NEW BREWERY!
We finally closed on the building where we will be constructing our new brewery. It is on the north side of downtown at 2000 Lyons Ave. It is a 3 story brick building from 1916. We have a whole lot of work to do there, including gutting and adding on to the existing building to house our new brewhouse and tanks. It will take us probably close to a year before we are open there. We will then phase out our current location. We’ll keep you informed of our progress!
SOLUTIONS TO TEXAS SUMMERS or WHAT TO DRINK IF IT’S REALLY HOT OUTSIDE:
For those wishing to enjoy a lighter but flavorful beer:
Summer Pils, while it lasts: 2 silver Great American Beer Festival medals
Fancy Lawnmower Beer: 1 gold and 2 bronze GABF medals
Or for those that find really hoppy beers refreshing in the heat:
Elissa IPA: Silver World Beer Cup medal
Of course, we actually recommend all of our beers (another 12 GABF and World Beer Cup medals).
Please remember to recycle your 6 pack carriers and lower your carbon footprint by enjoying your local Saint Arnold beers! And thank you for making May our biggest month ever!
Thanks for your support!
Cheers!
