Firestone Walker Hosts Beer Dinner During SF Beer Week
Firestone Walker Hosts Beer Dinner With Toronado For San Francisco Beer Week
Firestone Walker Teams Up With Chef Sean Z. Paxton To Present A Beer & Food Pairing
Paso Robles, CA, – Firestone Walker Brewing Company and Chef Sean Z. Paxton, aka “The Homebrew Chef”, have teamed up with San Francisco’s own Toronado to present “A Night of Ales” beer dinner. The dinner will coincide with San Francisco’s Beer Week which features events celebrating beer at venues throughout the Bay Area.
The dinner will take place on February 12th at 6 p.m. across from Toronado at the Peacock Lounge located at 552 Haight Street. Chef Paxton will be preparing six courses developed specifically for this event and Firestone Walker Brewing Company. Each course will be paired with a different beer from Firestone Walker. Firestone Brewmaster Matt Brynildson will also be on hand to talk about each of the beers and educate guests on the pairings.
“Beer dinners are really taking off all across the United States. People are realizing that beer belongs at the table, and that beer and food pairings are just as amazing as dishes paired with wine,” said Brynildson.
Beer dinners have become a very hot ticket recently and have been called “The Top Culinary Trend of 2009” by Flavor and The Menu magazine. This coincides with the recent consumer trend towards craft beers, those beers made on a smaller scale with premium ingredients.
“The caramelized, roasted, and sometimes citrus flavors in beer are perfect to pair with foods which share many of the same characteristics,” Brynildson added.
Tickets to the dinner are on sale for $95/person at Toronado Beer Bar at 547 Haight in San Francisco. The ticket price includes six courses cooked with beer and paired with nine different beers.
Established in 1996 on California’s Central Coast, Firestone Walker is a regional brewery committed to making the world’s best pale ales. Firestone Walker also remains the only American brewery to ferment beer in a union of oak barrels. Firestone Walker Brewing Company was named “Mid-Size Brewing Company of The Year” at the 2007 and 2003 Great American Beer Festivals and “Champion Brewery” for the category of Mid-Size Brewing Company at the 2006 and 2004 World Beer Cups.

$95! Damn. I wish I was rich. All of these SF Beer Week beer dinners look amazing, but unfortunately I can’t afford any of them! Looks like a sixer from Firestone Walker with some friends will have to do.
