Deschutes Brewery Brings Base Camp To Missoula Montana

Deschutes Brewery brings its Base Camp campaign to Missoula for an amazing week of specialty beer tastings, beer and food pairings, and appearances by Woody, the giant beer barrel on wheels. Deschutes brewers, ambassadors and fanatics will be on hand to provide some in-the-trenches insight into our courageously crafted brews October 9-13, 2012.

What is Base Camp you may ask? It’s a place where Deschutes Brewery offers beer fanatics a spot to “pitch a tent” of sorts – and find their footing with the cornerstone of Mirror Pond Pale Ale. Deschutes Brewery Base Camp Week is a celebration of Mirror Pond’s easy-drinking goodness, along with many more of the brewery’s passion-heavy, pioneering brews. The Deschutes Brewery team is traveling around to cities all over the west, providing passionate fans with a seriously fun exploration of beer. Make the trek to Base Camp. It all begins here…

WHAT: Deschutes Brewery Industry Tasting
Do you work with beer? If you work in a bar or restaurant serving craft beer to your customers, then this is the event for you! Come chat with the folks from Deschutes Brewery and learn more about the types of beer that pass over your bar every day. They’ll have brewer Robin Johnson on hand to give some insight. Sample some of Deschutes’ reserve and limited release beers like a vertical tasting of the Black Butte imperial porter anniversary brews, fresh hop beers Hop Trip and the brand-new Chasin’ Freshies, and winter seasonal Jubelale. You’ll return to work with new knowledge and appreciation for craft beer – your customers will thank you!

When hops go from field to brew kettle in just a few hours, you get fresh hop beers that are…well….fresh! Oregon’s Deschutes Brewery celebrated the hop harvest this fall by releasing two fresh hop beers: the brewery’s annual celebratory brew, Hop Trip; and a brand-new addition to the lineup, Chasin’ Freshies. Bottles of these hop-filled wonders, plus Deschutes Brewery favorites like Mirror Pond Pale Aleand Black Butte Porter, will be available for sale. Bring a few home and wow your friends and family with all your craft brew knowledge – which you’ll garner from a nice chat with brewer Robin Johnson. He’ll share with you the ins and outs of brewing your favorite style of beer.
