CANFEST – Reno International Canned Beer Festival

CANFEST is the first beer festival of its kind, as we are celebrating beer in CANS! We have invited all breweries that can beer (BIG, small and international) to be part of this festival.

There will be a judging component, beer & food pairings, and talks. All takes place on the stage of the Grand Theatre at the Grand Sierra Resort on Friday, October 23th, 2009 at 6:30 PM. Tickets are only $35 and a portion of the proceeds goes to a couple of great non-profits, The Nature Conservancy and Great Basin Bird Observatory.

Featured Speakers: Paul Gatza, Director of the Brewers Association, will discuss the movement to can craft beer; Ginger Johnson of WomenEnjoyingBeer.com will discuss women and beer trends; and a Brewers Forum – a gathering of brewers and brewery owners will take questions from the audience.

Brewery Participants: We currently have 28 breweries, participating from 7 countries and 13 states! Sixteen of these breweries do not sell beer in Nevada, so this is a great opportunity to try a lot of new brews. See our blog for a complete list: http://buckbeanbrewsnews.blogspot.com/.

CANFEST is not only about great beer, but pairing your beer with food. Participating food vendors, demonstrating their pairings include: Dorado Chocolates, Tahoe Creamery ice cream and cheeses from Roth Käse USA.
