Blue Palms Brewhouse and Site Relaunch
Los Angeles County is such a large, spread out land, with tons of great beer sent from all around the state for us to enjoy. We get the goodies made up North, and we get an abundance of great beer made farther South. Up until recently, I have traveled down to San Diego County in order to visit beer bars that have a great beer selection, and give a good, welcoming vibe.
Now, I can go to the fairly new, Blue Palms Brewhouse in Hollywood, CA. I am not talking about Paris Hilton or John Mayer sightings, I am talking about gritty, artsy Hollywood. Just west of Hollywood and Vine is a new beer bar with 24 beers on tap and one cask engine. When I arrived, I immediately noticed the lighting. It was dim, yet clear and easy on the eyes. The seating seemed optimal for times when its empty or when its packed. When I went to the bar, I was greeted by the owner Brian, and was given a well thought out tap list. Great, fresh beer from California on tap, described on the menu, with reasonable prices. Also for those who can’t make up their mind, you can order a 4 sample flight for $7.00.
Here is what blew me away. You could actually ask the bartender (in this case, the owner Brian) questions about the beer, and he would answer with some knowledge. Most places I have been to in Los Angeles would respond with, “Look at the menu.” or “I don’t know, I hear the Blue Moon is good.” While I didn’t order food, the menu looked and smelled fantastic, and the prices weren’t bad at all. If you have been dieing to try the magical stuff made by Firestone Walker not sold in stores, and can’t make the hike to Paso Robles, you can stop by Blue Palms, and quite possibly find some of the harder to find beers made by FSW. I truly wish nothing but success for this place, as it is a model for beer bars around the country. bluepalmsbrewhouse.com
You may or may not have noticed thefullpint.com has made a drastic transformation over the the past three weeks. Although CBD Jon and I would love to say we plan everything out well a head of time, our best work is created on the fly, and with a cold beer in hand. We relaunched our site with a new theme, which gives you a new user interface. We have an abundance of fun content for you all to read, so we needed to try an organize it better for you all. While we will always be tweaking the site, what you see today makes us very proud. Please enjoy these features:

While thefullpint.com will always be a work in progress, we hope you enjoy the new layout, and continue to follow our progress. Our mission statement was to one day make this our fulltime job, so we don’t have to work 9-5 for the man. We are a few steps closer to that goal.
