Weyerbacher Riserva
From Weyerbacher – Over a year in the making, this American Wild Ale is fermented with Brettanomyces yeast and aged with red-raspberry puree in Oak barrels for over 1 year, then bottle conditioned in champagne bottles.
Weyerbacher Riserva – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. Shared at Stone Sourfest bottle share 2011 – 11.4% abv.
Appearance: Pours a peachy red with no head. Cloudy.
Aroma: Lactic and citric acid funk. Light ointment and sweet berry.
Taste: Sweet and tart berry candy. Alcohol is not to apparent for being 11.4%.
Mouth: Astringent, medium bodied with modest carbonation.
Overall: Tasty, tart, well balanced and refreshing Possibly one of Weyerbacher’s best beers?
