Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a chilled pint glass.

Appearance
A burnt orange-amber color with good clarity and only the slightest hop haze. Nearly an inch of yellow-tined head that left a lot of lace.

Aroma
Very fragrant and hoppy from the variety of five hops used. The Nugget and Simcoe really stand out when sniffing. Also present are some fruity and piney notes but they are hidden deeply behind the hops extravaganza.

Taste
Fresh and resiney with essence of evergreen pines. Slightly bitter at first with definite sour grapefruit notes.

Mouthfeel
Smooth and sticky with a little chewy bite in the middle of the tongue. Decent carbonation creates an enjoyable tingling in the mouth.

Overall
I loved this amber ale. Honestly, it is one of the best I have ever tasted and I cannot wait to get some more. The plethora of hops gives the sensation of an IPA but the amber color and the sweetness of the malts are perfectly balanced. I would recommend this beer to anyone looking for a rich and tasty amber ale. The alcohol content is perfect too – not too much but enough to get your buzzed.
