The Bruery Saison Tonnellerie
From The Bruery – Saison Tonnellerie is a new addition to our portfolio of Belgian-inspired saison ales and it could be argued that it is the most traditional as it was 100% fermented in oak barrels. This sophisticated beer has picked up a rustic character akin to the original beers of the Belgian countryside that would be brewed in the colder months of the year, when fermentation temperatures were more forgiving, and served to the farm staff to keep their thirst quenched all summer long. With Spring upon us, you are just in time to stock up on this new ale for the warmer months.
The Bruery – The Bruery Saison Tonnellerie – 750 ml. bottle poured into a goblet. 6.7% abv.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy gold with a lasting tight white cap.
Aroma: Musty basement, grain, low herbal hops, some herbal like spiciness.
Taste: Spicy fruity yeast, barrel tannins, slight earthy finish with faint, inviting tartness.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, lively balanced carbonation.
Overall: This beer knocked my socks off. Of all the Saisons The Bruery has offered, this is by far my favorite, and probably in my “Bruery Fave Five.” Don’t pass this up if you get a chance to try or snag a bottle.
