The Bruery Provisions The Workman’s Friend
From The Bruery – One of the more classic beers we’ve ever brewed here, The Workman’s Friend is our take on an Imperial Porter. Dark and creamy with flavors of roasted coffee and bitter chocolate peaking through the well hidden 8% abv. There is hardly a better beer to sit down with at the end of a winter work day.
The Bruery – The Bruery Provisions Series: The Workman’s Friend – On tap at The Bruery Provisions – 8% abv.
Appearance: Pours a very dark brown with a creamy ring of head. Rather viscous looking.
Aroma: Chocolate, black cherry and smoke.
Taste: Dark chocolate, smoke, ash and roast.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with modest creamy carbonation.
Overall: Really good. While Einer’s Folly (Imperial Porter aged on oak) was a completely different beer, as far as Imperial Porters go, this one is the man.
