The Bruery 4 Calling Birds
From The Bruery – The fourth verse of our Twelve Beers of Christmas saga incorporates gingerbread-like spice into a rich and robust dark ale. Happy Holidays.
The Bruery – The Bruery 4 Calling Birds – On tap at The Bruery Provisions – 11% abv.
Appearance: Pours an amber brown with a creamy tan cap.
Aroma: Cola, spicy Belgian yeast, Euro hop herbalness.
Taste: Dark chocolate , burnt toast, spicy yeast, finishes bitter. Quite alcoholic. Had this on tap at Provisions, and didn’t pick up the gingerbread like others have.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Lively carbonation.
Overall: I tried this within days of it released to the public(Late Oct/Early Nov). I like the profile of all their 12 Days beers including this, but this one is a little hot when I tried it. I see this one making it for 8 years.

Just picked this one up today. Can’t wait to try it once it cools down.

I liked this one, too. But I wasn’t feelin’ the aftertaste. I don’t think this one has reached its full potential.
