Struise Pannepøt
From Struise – In the early 1900s, the village of De Panne, close to the French border, was famous for two things — the ‘Pannepots,’ or fishing boats, that could be seen along the coast, and the unique dark ale enjoyed by the local fishermen. Our Old Fisherman’s Ale is a tribute to these hardy sailors and their rich, flavorful brew.

Appearance: Pours a red tinted dark brown with large bubbly head, that quickly dissipates to a micro stripe of white.
Aroma: Warm, flat coke, wild cherry, ginger and a medicine cabinet, perhaps some funky yeast.
Taste: A sweet and sour cherry tart twang, noticeable roasted malt, nutmeg and ginger spice finishing slightly funky ,dry and bitter.
Mouthfeel: Sticky with medium carbonation.
Overall: A treat, and good chilled all the way up to room temperature. This would pair well with cheese or chocolate.
