Southampton Keller Pils
From Southampton Publick House – So what is a keller beer? According to Phil Markowski, “keller beer is literally ‘cellar beer.’ Visit an Old World lager brewery and the brewmaster will insist that you enjoy a ‘keller’ beer direct from the aging tank. To a brewer this is beer at its purest: unfiltered, nuanced and gently carbonated. Southampton Keller Pils is just such a brew.”
Southampton Publick House – Southampton Keller Pils – 12 oz. bottle poured into an imperial pint glass – 5.0% abv.
Appearance: Pours a semi cloudy, pastel yellow gold. Within the body, you will see noticible rising carbonation, and sitting atop is a dense foamy white head.
Aroma: Fresh cut straw, Eurohops and a little bit of yeasty bread notes.
Taste: An even mixture of bread crust and spicy hops, husky grain, followed by metallic notes finishing with bitterness a slight sour twang.
Mouthfeel: Crisp, refreshing.
Overall: A great summer drinker with some character. The hops really shined in this fresh beer.
