Silver City Fat Scotch Style Ale
From Silver City – Born of humble beginnings and of Scotch Heritage, Fat Scotch Ale quietly arrived one winter day at Silver City Brewery in 2001. Exceptionally smooth and malty, with a touch of peat character, Fat Scotch Ale legend quickly grew. Today, Fat Scotch Ale stands astride the brewing landscape a behemoth brew, uncompromising and an avoidable.
Silver City Brewery – Silver City Fat Scotch Style Ale – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 9.2% abv.
Appearance: Pours a deep dark red with no head. Even after swirling, I couldn’t obtain any head action.
Aroma: Sweet, slightly burnt sugars, bubble gum, and light peat.
Taste: Burnt sugar, dark fruit, herbal hops.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, modest carbontion.
Overall: Very nice, the alcohol was well hidden with this beer. I’ve read Scotch Ale’s roots are in Belgium, correct me if I’m wrong, this particular Scotch Ale border-lined on Belgian Strong Ale territory.
