Sierra Nevada Tumbler
From Sierra Nevada – As the nights grow cool, the leaves on the valley oaks begin to turn and fall. In honor of this yearly dance, we bring you Tumbler Autumn Brown Ale and invite you to enjoy the show. We use malt within days of roasting at the peak of its flavor to give Tumbler a gracefully smooth malt character. So pour a glass, and grab a window seat to watch as the leaves come tumbling down.
Sierra Nevada Brewing – Sierra Nevada Tumbler – 12 oz. bottle poured into an English pint glass. 5.5% abv. Purchased at Certified Market Monrovia, CA.
Appearance: Pours a translucent maple brown with a picture perfect, rocky fluffy tan head. Leaves behind webby lacing.
Aroma: Bread crust, molasses bread, big grassy hops.
Taste: Bread crust, big mixture of spicy and herbal hops, burnt sugar, a small touch of cocoa and roast making it finish dry and slightly bitter.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with modest carbonation.
Overall: A nice hoppy Sierra Nevada that has no flaws, and is quite enjoyable. I’m not surprised. Also, this is far better than the brown ale I remember having 3 years ago for their anniversary ale.
