Sierra Nevada Harvest Wild Hop IPA
From Sierra Nevada Brewing – The finale in our 2014 Harvest series features Neomexicanus, a wild hop native to the U.S. that imparts striking melon and apricot aromas as well as a floral undercurrent and citrus-like flavor.
Sierra Nevada Brewing – Sierra Nevada Harvest Wild Hop IPA – 750 ml. bottle poured into a pint glass. 6.5% abv.
Appearance: Pours clear amber gold with a thick beige head.
Aroma: Pine, citrus pith, toasted malt.
Taste: Rusty metallic hops. Sturdy citrus bitter hops, dry malt.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Average carbonation.
Overall: I did not enjoy this as much as the other hoppy offerings from Sierra Nevada. Interesting to try, but just didn’t do it for me. Seemed rusty and skunky to me, but not in a mishandled/flawed way.
