Russian River Consecration Batch 1 (4 Years Later)
From Russian River – Dark Ale aged in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from local wineries. It is aged for 4 to 8 months with black currants, brettanomyces, lactobacillus, and pediococcus added to each barrel. Rich flavors of chocolate truffle, spice, tobacco, currants, and a bit of Cabernet. Very full-bodied, sip slowly!
Russian River Brewing – Russian River Consecration Batch 001×2 Enjoyed 4 Years Later – 750. ml bottle poured into a goblet. 10% abv.
Appearance: Pours dark cloudy amber with no head and just a few white swirls.
Aroma: Fresh raspberry, raspberry lemonade, red wine, brown sugar and funk.
Taste: Red wine, mildly bitter tannins, raspberry, grapes, toasted dark malt, red wine vinegar sourness that lingers.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied lively carbonation.
Overall: I went in to this with no expectations. I started a small discussion with some friends as to whether to trade this or drink it. After mixed feedback, I decided it should be drank. I’m glad I did. The bottle suggests not going past 3 years in the cellar, and I’m happy to report this was very tasty, but significantly different from the beer when it’s fresh.

How did the Supplication taste fresh as opposed to cellared?

Caleb,
I appreciate where you are coming from, but my nose knows what it knows. If I smell pickles, I write it down, if I smell raspberry lemonade, I write that down. Thats what makes this fun.
Cheers,

for real raspberry lemonade? don’t be like that, i can not stand it when people add flavors to something that is not there. i had a guy try and tell me this bottle shelf wine had a stewed tomato taste….it’s bs. be real don’t add flavors and aromas that do not exist to gather recognition cause in reality it’s a fallacy. just be honest and real not smug.
