Review – Tröegs Dreamweaver Wheat
From Tröegs Brewing Company: Long toasty days, cool breezy nights and a splash of magic provide the inspiration for the Tröegs brothers’ dreamiest Single Batch creation—Dreamweaver Wheat. Combining four wheat typeswith Munich and Pils malts, noble Saaz hops, and a yeast strain that imparts a spicy, peppery, clove taste with a slight hint of bananas, Dreamweaver Wheat is an unfiltered blast of spicy, mouthwatering joy.
Tröegs Brewing Co. – Dreamweaver Wheat – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 4.8% abv. From Andrew in D.C.
Appearance: Pours a dull, cloudy yellow, that looks like a thick glass of fruit juice (grapefruit and pineapple come to mind). Really no head to speak of.
Aroma: Banana and clove, perhaps a touch of vanilla.
Taste: Banana, cloves, pineapple, and a modest bitter hop spice at the end.
Mouthfeel: Thick.
Overall: Flavorful and hearty. Not my most favorite Wheat beer, but it’s more my preference than the beer at hand. No need for the lemon or orange wedge.
