Review – Sweetwater 420 Extra Pale Ale
I am not sure why I love this beer so much, but I do, and was fortunate enough to get another sample from my dear friends at Sweet Water Brewing Co. in Atlanta, GA. Is it always 4:20 at Sweetwater? My guess is it always is.
Sweetwater 420 Extra Pale Ale – 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. 5.2% abv.
Appearance: Light, sunny gold. A wee bit of froth at the top.
Aroma: A light amount of hops and malt, and other fresh smelling grains.
Taste: Light refreshing crisp hop flavor, lemon zest, and a touch of spicy malt. Finishes with a small amount of bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Thirst quenching. Not to thick and not too thin.
Overall: A very complex ale in the name of pale. I would drink at least a six pack in a session, take this to the beach, and have it as a stand by beer for cooking.

This beer has a citrus flavor to it… like a lime or light grapefruit. Really easy to drink.

A guy I work with at the liquor store said he had one on tap in Savannah last week and he really enjoyed it. The other he had was the Terrapin Rye Pale Ale which he also said was good.
