Stoudt’s Oktoberfest
Stoudt’s Brewing Co. – Oktoberfest 5% ABV
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a chilled pint glass.
Appearance
This beer poured a beautiful translucent light brown with reddish highlights. On top was a thick and creamy head sitting about an inch high.
Aroma
Mostly malts with a tasty bitter smell from the bittering hops, Perle and the easily recognizable Hallertau.
Taste
Delicious. Fresh. Smooth. This beer greatly exceeded my expectations and joined the long list of my Stoudt’s favorites. The toasted grains added a unique sweet complexity which played nicely with the hops.
Mouthfeel
Slightly sticky but not gooey. This beer was very smooth and drinkable with moderate to low carbonation.
Overall
I’ll say it again. This beer was delicious. If you are thinking about trying a top of the line Oktoberfest beer this fall, make Stoudt’s your choice and you will not be disappointed. I have had so many other O’fests this year already and none have compared, including my favorite Sam Adams. Keep up the great work Stoudt’s!

Evan, Just wanted to give you a heads up that Otter Creek / Wolavers are doing some great new things. New brewmaster, Mike Gerhart, formerly with Dogfish and Magic Hat is leading big changes from the brewdeck, and things are tasting great. No longer at Stoudt’s, I chased another dream to a small farmhouse in VT and am working at the brewery in Middlebury. If you have any questions, drop me a line. Cheers!
