Review – Stone 07.07.07 Vertical Epic
Stone 07.07.07 Vertical Epic
8.4% abv
Poured from a 22 ounce bottle into a chilled pint glass.
Appearance
Rich golden color with hints of orange and yellow. Few bubbles translated into not much head at all. A little bit hazy but not totally opaque.
Aroma
Fruity and hoppy. Smells of ripe bananas and other more citrusy fruits.
Taste
Pretty sweet and citrusy overall, although some spicy notes are also present. Ginger is the main spice I could pick out.
Mouthfeel
A little flat with a good tartness kick. Warm going down from the high alcohol content.
Overall
This was another beer sent to me from my good friend Dan in California. As usual, I planned on saving this beer for aging but my curiousity got the best of me. And I am glad it did. I really enjoyed this beer, regardless of many less favorable reviews online. The spices were not overwhelming while the hop profile and malt sweetness were balanced gracefully. This is definitely a beer that I wouldn’t mind trying again.
