Review – Steamworks Colorado Kolsch
Steamworks Brewing – Steamworks Colorado Kolsch 12. oz poured into a beer glass. 4.2% abv.
From Steaworks Brewing Co.: The Colorado Kölsch is a derivative of German Kölschs, which were created in response to the popular lager-based Pilsners being produced in the Czech Republic in the 1840s. That means it’s a light crisp ale with a hint of sweetness. And very refreshing.
Appearance: Bright, golden-yellow with a frothy ¼” head.
Smell: Strong floral and hop scents with a hint of citrus.
Taste: Bright apricot and orange taste with a light hop finish.
Mouthfeel: Surprisingly heavy for a lighter beer with a syrupy sweetness.
Drinkability: A refreshing kolsch that’s the perfect ale for the dog days of summer.
