Review: Smuttynose Wheat Wine Ale 2006
Served from a 22oz bomber into an Old Guardian glass. Served chilled.
Aroma: The slight tinge of alcohol gives the first nose a grapefruit candy smell. All-and-all, this his a mild aroma that must be sought after.
Taste: A nice mix of caramel and mocha. If you have ever tried a Dolce de Leche late from Starbucks, its pretty close to that. Although pleasantly sweet, you will notice a small alcohol note on the back of your tongue.
Mouthfeel: Your mouth will be coated like you are eating a Wearther’s Original candy. The sweetness takes the bitter right out of your mouth.
Drinkability: A dessert beer, that should be saved for special occasions. Very inviting, yet took a while to get down do to its heaviness.
I highly recommend trying this, or any of the other Big Beer Series from Smuttynose.
