The Saint Louis Brewery – Schlafly Pale Ale – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 4.4% abv.
Appearance: Pours a reddish amber with a soapy 1/2 inch white head. The body is rather clear, with visible rising carbonation.
Aroma: Pale, dry malts and a touch of earth and bread crust.
Taste: Dry malts and mildly metallic bitter hops. I don’t find much sweetness in this beer whatsover.
Mouthfeel: Crisp and refreshing. Rather thin.
Overall: A respectable session beer, however I found more to like from their APA (Dry Hopped).
