Review – Rogue Dead Guy Ale
Rogue Dead Guy Ale
6.5% abv
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a chilled pint glass.
Appearance
Slightly burnt orange-amber in color with fluffy white foam. Left very little lace on the glass.
Aroma
Smells very malty with subtle hints of grassy/floral hops.
Taste
Extremely sweet beer with notes of caramel and fresh maple syrup or honey. Definitely a beer that I would consume more of one of without feeling full or bloated.
Mouthfeel
Light carbonation but enough fizzle to know you are drinking a beer. I felt a little tang from the oils and resins in the hops no the sides of my tongue.
Overall
All in all, this is a very good beer. Nothing special or fancy, just good brew with a decent kick. I could see having a bunch of these as “everyday” beers for after work or with dinner. My buddy Aaron brought a few over the other night and we sampled them together. Having had many different Rogue beers in the past, I knew it was time to try their flagship and boy am I glad I did.
