Review – Port Brewing Brother Levonian
From The Full Pint – This beer never went into distribution. It was given to attendees of the National Homebrewers Conference and the rest went to the Michael Jackson rare beer club. This beer was brewed in honor of Dave Levonian, a home brewer and QUAFF member, brewed by Mike at Lost Abbey. A few were alotted at a Port Brewing’s 3rd Anniversary as well. This wonderful beer is a wonderful to remember the life of Mike.
Port Brewing – Brother Levonian – 750 ml bottle poured into a goblet. 6.5% abv.
Appearance: Pours a clear copper with a dense, sparkly 1/4 inch of head.
Aroma: Coriander, clove, grass and a bit of pencil shaving I sometimes attribute to Belgian Tripel yeast.
Taste: Huge burst of tangerine, followed by spicy hops and cloves. Finishes nice and dry.
Mouthfeel: A tad bit fizzy, not thick nor thin.
Overall: Really refreshing, really flavorful, and the tangerine really sets this beer a part from the rest.
