Review – Port Brewing 3rd Anniversary Ale
From Port Brewing: A massively hoped Strong IPA brewed to celebrate our Anniversary each year.. Brewed with Columbus, Amarillo and Simcoe with Columbus and Amarillo Dry Hopping. Suggested Serving Temperature – 48-55 degrees F.
Port Brewing Company – 3rd Anniversary – 22 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 10.0% abv. Purchased at Certified Market – Monrovia, CA.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy bright orange gold. Starts with a lasting 1/4 inch dense white head.
Aroma: Big whiffs of grapefruit and pine.
Taste: Very piny and sweet to start, followed by some citrus fruit as well as pineapple. Finishes with a sturdy amount of bitter hops. Seems very earthy, herbal and citrusy, with a bit of youthful heat.
Mouthfeel: Amazingly creamy. Smooth like it was on cask. Am I losing my mind?
Overall: While this could be just chalked up as a San Diego Hop Bomb, it is much more than that. With it’s unique mouthfeel and piny malty character, you would really be suprised by this beer. Be careful, it is 10%, share it with another hop loving friend.
