What: Old Dominion Octoberfest (poured into a gel-filled freezer mug).
Purchased: Severna Park Wines & Spirits, Severna Park, Md
Appearance: Rich, rusty brown. About the color of peat moss. Butter cream colored head that dissipated after two sips.
Smell: Caramel and oatmeal.
Taste: Fantastically autumn-like. Toast, rye, just a hint of chocolate. A little sour/bitter bite on the finish but not unpleasantly so.
Mouthfeel: Clean and effervescent.
Drinkability: Very. This beer is perfect for a crisp fall day and the aromas and tastes compliment the smell of fallen leaves while sitting on the porch. This brew would also compliment a mediu-bodied cigar very well with neither overpowering the other.
