Review – Mendocino Red Tail Ale

From Mendocino Brewing Company: The Legend is our flagship brand. It is brewed in the traditional “old world” manner, using premium two-row malted barley, hops and our own special proprietary yeast strain. It is an amber ale with a rich complex refreshing flavor and a crisp dry finish. Red Tail Ale is “Bottle Conditioned.” Like good wine, Red Tail Ale is a perfect complement to fine dining.
Mendocino Brewing Co. – Red Tail Ale – 12 oz. bottle – 6.1% abv.
Appearance: Light, coppery-gold
Smell: A light smell of hops.
Taste: Bland. For lack of a better explanation, it tastes like “beer.”
Mouthfeel: Smooth all-around with a quick finish.
Drinkability: Imagine opening a birthday present from your best friend, only to find that they’ve gotten you a XXXL t-shirt with an airbrush drawing of “latter day Elvis.” It’s kind of like that!
