Review – Legend Porter
While checking thefullpint.com’s MySpace page one day, I bumped into Legend Brewery, who also has a MySpace page. After having a nice chat, Legend decided to send me a few of their flagship beers for review. What a great world I live in. And for all the MySpace haters out there, see, it isn’t all bad.
Legend Brewery Legend Porter – 22oz Bottle Poured into my Stone IRS glass. 6%abv.
Appearance: Dark brown with a dark, tan 1/4 inch silky head. Leaves no webbing or lace after sipping.
Aroma: Coco Puffs cereal! Big milk chocolate smell backed with cereal grains. Hints of maple sugar can be found as well.
Taste: Soft mocha chocolate due to the heavily roasted malts. Finishes with a black coffee flavor that stays all around after you have swallowed. The finish is much dryer that the aroma would have you imagine.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, silky, with perfect carbonation.
Overall: Fantastic brew with huge complexity. I would pair this with cake or chocolate dipped fruit. I am very impressed with this beer.
