Dogfish Head Palo Santo Marron (Malt Beverage Aged On Palo Santo Wood) found at Monster Beverage in Glassboro, NJ.
Appearance: Dark opaque black in color with a caramel foam of 1.5 inches
Aroma: Fruity banana immediately upon opening and pouring. Then caramel, with a piney forest smell in the background.
Taste: Smooth taste with a hint of the wood used in fermentation. There is also a vague hint of vanilla in the background.
Mouthfeel: Thick and syrupy with an almost milkshake like consistency.
Overall: I really love this beer, which is no surprise since I have not met a Dogfish brew I didn’t like. It is very drinkable and the hops are in perfect quantities. The alcohol content slightly exceeds the 12% mark, which is another bonus in my book. No wonder they sell it four packs instead of sixers.
