Review – Deschutes Black Butte Porter
From Deschutes Brewing – Black Butte Porter, crafted from chocolate and crystal malts, is Deschutes Brewery’s flagship brand. With a rich and distinctive flavor, this porter has enjoyed a loyal and passionate following since its first pint in 1988.
Deschutes Brewing – Black Butte Porter – 12 oz. poured into a pint glass. 5.2% abv. Purchased at Whole Foods Market, Arroyo Pasadena, CA.
Appearance: Pours a jet brown with a rather large, dense fluffy head.
Aroma: Chocolate malts, a little bit of roastiness and a wee bit of earthy hop note.
Taste: Bread crusty malt, a little bit of chocolate, some roasty toasty malt, and very mild amount of bitter hops found in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, and the head gives it almost a creamy texture.
Overall: A very solid porter. Great aroma taste and mouthfeel, I’d love to try this even fresher, on tap if possible.

Best NA porter or beer that I drink. Like the chocolate and coffee overtones with the hops.
