Port Brewing / Lost Abbey – Port Brewing Hop 15 – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 9.7% abv.
Appearance: Pours amber orange. Cloudy body with yeast matter. Beautiful fluffy white head.
Aroma: Candied orange, creamsicle, pinesol.
Taste: Big agressive hops. Mixture of pine and cutrus. Tropical fruit. Toffee malt.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Lively carbonation. Slightly sticky.
Overall: It’s been following this beer over the years. I feel in love with this beer back in 2007 and it’s taken twists and turns for the good and bad. The 2013 bottle of Hop 15 was very pleasing, and reminded me of the good old days. The yeast sediment didn’t bother me, the hop flavors and aromas were awesome, and the huge malt bill didn’t seem as ‘custardy’ as previous years batches. I had this on tap a week later, and was even more impressed.
